3D-Printed Gift Ideas, Made to Order in Aveiro, Portugal
The nicest 3D-printed gifts are original pieces you won't find on a high-street shelf — designed in-house and made to order, one small batch at a time. Dr3amToReal is a design-led 3D-printing studio in Aveiro, Portugal, and every piece is quality-checked before it ships. Most are ready to order as shown; a few — like custom photo lamps and name pieces — can be personalised. Here are our favourite gift ideas, grouped by who you're buying for, most from €15 to €80.
Why these make good gifts
Because they're not mass-produced. Each Dr3amToReal piece is an original design, printed on demand in Portugal rather than pulled off a shelf, so it arrives with a bit of small-batch character. Many pieces can be printed in a colour of your choice on request, and a handful are fully personalised with a name or a photo — but even the ready-made designs feel like a considered gift precisely because they're uncommon.
For a partner or someone you love
- I Love You Rose — a sculptural rose with the words "I love you" built into the stem. There's also an XL version with a stand for a bigger statement.
- Couple Kiss Vase and Eternal Love Heart Sculpture — romantic display pieces for a shelf or bedside table.
- Heart-Shaped Jewellery Box — a keepsake that's also useful, for rings and small treasures.
Personalised with a photo or a name
These are the pieces made for a specific person:
- Custom Family Lamp and the Custom Photo Lithophane Arc — you send a photograph, we reproduce it as a lithophane that reveals the image when it's lit. Our first customer review — five stars — was for a custom photo lamp.
- Personalised Decorative Name Letters — a child's name, a couple's initials, or a word that means something.
- Best Grandparents Keepsake Photo Frame — personalised for the people who kept every photo.
For parents
- Mother & Child Sculpture and the Family on Heart Sculpture — quiet, meaningful sculptural pieces.
For the home (and housewarmings)
- HueForge wall art — full-colour pictures built entirely from layers of coloured filament, no paint. Browse the Wall Art & HueForges collection, and if you're new to them, our guide What Is a HueForge? explains how they work.
- Twisted Flow Decorative Vase and other sculptural vases in the Decorative Vases collection — display pieces (best kept for dry display rather than fresh flowers).
- Abstract Curved Valet Tray — a modern catch-all for keys, rings, and everyday clutter.
For kids
- Piggy banks — from the Unicorn Piggy Bank to the Castle Piggy Bank — a first lesson in saving that also looks good on a shelf.
- Butterfly Keychain and other keychains — small, colourful, pocket-money-friendly extras.
Want something that doesn't exist yet?
Alongside the ready-to-order designs above, a large part of what we do is custom work — you describe an idea, share a photo or a sketch, and we design and test it before it's made. If you have something specific in mind, see how an order works or read our complete guide to custom 3D printing, then get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
How long does an order take?
Catalogue pieces are made in about 3 to 7 working days; custom or photo-based pieces take a little longer because they're designed and test-printed first. You'll get a timeframe when your order is confirmed — so ask early before a birthday or holiday.
Where do you ship?
Our checkout serves mainland Portugal. Madeira, the Azores and destinations outside Portugal are quoted case by case — ask us before you order and we'll confirm cost and timing.
Which pieces can be personalised?
The photo lamps, name letters, and photo frame are made around your name or photograph. Many other pieces can be printed in a colour of your choice on request. If you're not sure whether something can be adapted, ask before you order.
